What is Kontera?

Kontera is an advertising site operating in the same way as google adsense, but it’s different. Kontera is contextualized ad services, Kontera’s ContentLinks relies on your content to deliver relevant, targeted ads that readers will click.

There are no banners, no ad units and no text links placed at the side of your page or anywhere else on your site for that matter.

Instead, Kontera uses a mixture of technology to decide what your page is about, then highlights some of the words you’ve already put on your page. Only when the user places the mouse over those words does an ad appear related to that word’s meaning. The ad disappears when the user moves his mouse off the word — or clicks the ad.

So if you had a Web page about soccer for example, Kontera might highlight the words soccer ball, or shoes at certain points on your Web page. If the user wanted to know more about any of those topics, he’d simply place his mouse over the link and see an ad.

Kontera is completely automated. You can simply sign up, put the code on your pages and let Kontera do the rest.
